Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Stockpilot. Plain language, no traps — what you get, what you pay, and what happens if either of us walks away.

On this page

1. This agreement

These terms govern your use of Stockpilot, a Shopify application. By installing it on your Shopify store, you agree to them. If you are accepting on behalf of a business, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

Your use of Shopify itself is governed separately by Shopify’s own terms — nothing here changes your relationship with them.

2. What Stockpilot does

Stockpilot reads your Shopify catalogue, inventory levels and sales data to help you decide what to reorder and when. It provides:

Features may be added, changed or removed as the product develops. Where a feature is not yet released, we say so on our website rather than implying it exists.

3. Eligibility

Stockpilot requires an active Shopify store. You need the Shopify permissions to install applications, and you must keep the app’s access authorised for it to function. Some features depend on your Shopify plan — multi-location inventory, for example, requires a plan that supports multiple locations.

4. Plans, billing & trials

Billing runs entirely through Shopify. Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice; we never see or store your card details. Prices are shown on our website and on the Shopify App Store listing at the time you subscribe.

If we change our pricing, existing subscribers are notified before the change applies to them.

5. Your data

Your store’s data is yours. We process it only to provide the service, and we do not sell it or use it to build products for anyone else.

We deliberately do not store customer personal information — no names, emails or addresses. The back-in-stock waitlist holds mobile numbers for the sole purpose of notifying those customers, and they are deleted with the rest of your data.

What we collect, why, and exactly when it is deleted is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Your responsibilities

7. Forecasts are advice, not instructions

Stockpilot forecasts demand from your sales history and suggests what to buy. These are estimates. Real demand is affected by seasonality, promotions, supplier reliability and events no model can see. Every purchasing decision remains yours.

Automatically generated purchase orders are always created as drafts and are never sent to a supplier without you confirming them. We are not responsible for commercial outcomes of purchasing decisions — overstock, stockouts, or lost sales — whether or not they followed our suggestions.

Where a figure cannot be calculated honestly — a product with no cost price recorded, for instance — the app shows it as unknown rather than guessing. Do not read a blank as a zero.

8. Availability & support

We aim to keep Stockpilot available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app depends on Shopify’s APIs and on third parties such as our email provider; an outage or change on their side can affect it.

Support is offered by email at the addresses in section 13, during the hours published on our website. We may perform maintenance that briefly interrupts the service.

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these terms or your use of Stockpilot is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost sales, lost data, or the cost of stock purchased or not purchased.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Ending the agreement

You may stop using Stockpilot at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. We may suspend or end access if these terms are breached, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give reasonable notice and will not charge you for a period you cannot use.

On uninstall we immediately delete the credentials that let us reach your store. Shopify then instructs us to erase your store’s data, which it does around 48 hours later, and at that point we permanently delete it. That gap is deliberate: if the uninstall was a mistake, reinstalling within it restores everything. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date below always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Stockpilot after that means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION — to be completed], and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
